Please consider other options before sending your son to this place. I went there when I was much younger, and my experience there was traumatizing; especially considering the fragile state I was in. The environment was toxic at the core, and the people who ran it were very persuasive and clearly experienced at brushing the red flags my parents would be afraid of under the rug. I did not get sober at this place, rather I grew very appalled by the religion I had been raised to believe as well as the people who preached it here. I have two years clean and it is not because of this place, it is because I went to treatment centers where the staff was trained to support and teach me the necessary tools I needed to cope with the disease I learned alchoholism and addiction to be. At this place you’ll find ranch hands with no suitable experience for dealing with the adolescent nor young men that they find themselves in charge of. I beg you to reconsider your options, there are hundreds of far more eligible treatment centers than this, if this place can even be considered one. Most of which will introduce your son to NA or AA, which saved my life. Also, consider Al Anon for yourself, as it teaches the loved ones of addicts and alcoholics how to cope with and deal with their loved ones who suffer from the disease.

Beartooth Mountain Ascent was a godsend for our 20 year old son. He was in a really bad place in his young life with depression, low self esteem, and no direction which led to plenty of poor decisions with his behaviors. He did not fit the profile for a traditional rehab center, but so needed more than we could give him at home. I had recently discovered Beartooth Mountain Ascent during a web search and was going to bring it up with his therapist at our next session. Before I could bring it up, she said to me, "to bad there is not a ranch in the middle of no where that he could spend some time working and getting his head clear." I said, "well since you mentioned it, I have found one." That began our son's journey to Beartooth. It was the best and only decision we had for him. We truly felt if he continued the way he was, he was going to end up dead or in jail. Beartooth is no posh rehab center. But, we truly feel it saved our son. He thrived in the hard work and the comradery with the other young men. He did things he never thought he would or could do. He had his moments of adjustment, but with the quick and fair discipline he learned quickly. He participated in ranch life living in a bunkhouse. Every day he did everything from preparing meals, household chores to ranch work. He rode horses up the side of a mountain at cattle camp, drove the tractor to feed the cattle, built barb wire fences and so much more. He learned so much about himself with all the physical labor. He also participated in individual and group counseling sessions. The group of guys sharing and learning from each other really moved him. The Christian teachings were a tremendous benefit to our son. He has grown so much in his faith and with that comes the knowledge that God does love him and he is worthy. This knowledge is priceless. Our son say's that Beartooth was the best thing that ever happened to him and he misses it everyday!

Hello parents of troubled young adults, I was in your shoes, trying to find a place for my troubled son. Finding Beartooth Mnt Ascent BTMA/ “The Ranch” was an answer to my prayers. These people are real Christians with hearts of gold. They loved and cared for my son like their own. My son received loving care and true friendships by the House Leaders and Equine Center Leaders. What wonderful people to have looking over your child in your absence. They continue to help and pray for my son, even though my son has left the Ranch/BTMA. They have a life coach that meets with the guys once a week, and he truly understood my son. He took the guys on outings for the day while he connected with them. This is a good place people !!! Thank you everyone at the Ranch/BTMA !!! I will keep The Ranch and all of your residence in my prayers, for continued Blessings and positively impacting these young people’s lives. Forever Greatful, Kristine Black

We sent our son to Beartooth as a last resort. His behavior and his addictions put him on deaths door.We did everything we could to help him and he got progressively worse. His experience at first was very tough. He wanted out and complained relentlessly to us. We told him that most people with addictions want out so they can have access to drugs or alcohol. He's just completed 90 days in the program and the change in him is dramatic. I know the Beartooth staff have a spiritual approach to solving problems, and I am convinced that without divine intervention, his progress would not be sustained. He has committed to finishing the program and we are grateful to the Georges and their staff for helping our son. I will always consider the Beartooth Mountain Ascent staff, our family. Are prayers and support will continue, after our son leaves the program! Terry & Kathleen Carver
