The Beartooth MT Ascent Steps For Admission
Beartooth MT Ascent is a year-round sober living transition program and can accept new students at any time. Acceptance is based on a combination of a review of the student’s current and past history of behavior, and consultation with the student’s parents or sponsor.
We serve 18-26-year-old young men who have a history of mild to moderate emotional and behavioral problems, low self-esteem, defiance, academic underachievement, pornography and/or video gaming issues, substance abuse issues, and/or family conflict.
Step 1: Evaluate: First you’ll need to help us determine if your son will be a good fit for the types of young men we work with at Beartooth MT Ascent. You can do this by reading over our student profile on the homepage and by completing a quick downloadable form. Click here to access online admission interview form. Please fill out the form and email it to us at email@example.com
Step 2: Contact a Counselor: After you’ve determined that your son will be a good fit for Beartooth MT Ascent, you’ll need to speak with an admissions counselor (call 307-645-3381) to help confirm your decision and answer any questions you may have. We will also help evaluate whether or not your insurance will cover any of your program costs and offer financing suggestions if needed so that you can gauge your monthly out-of-pocket expenses for treatment. If desired you may also set up a ranch tour with your admissions counselor.
Step 3: Complete The Enrollment Packet: Your admissions counselor will get you an enrollment packet which you’ll need to complete and return. At this point, you can also arrange for your son’s transportation to Beartooth MT Ascent. Parents are welcome to travel to Beartooth MT Ascent with their son, your son can fly to the Yellowstone Regional Airport by himself and we will be there to pick him up, or we can help make arrangements for transport with our transportation service for an additional fee.
Step 4: Enrollment and Evaluation: Once your son arrives at Beartooth MT Ascent we ensure that all enrollment details are complete and we will arrange for a therapeutic evaluation by our licensed counselor.

If your son has begun to display some of the characteristics that struggling teens often show, contact us immediately to see if Beartooth MT Ascent Residential Life Skills Program can benefit your son.
Please note: The programs and therapy listed on our website are aspects of our daily life on a working cattle ranch and are integrated within our main BTMA program. Students participate in the daily ranch activities that are an organic part of real ranch life and work. Students do not get to pick and choose what activities they want to do each day. This teaches a young man to go beyond himself, become part of something bigger than himself, and learn to do what is required and needed, not what he finds pleasing to himself. Also, note that not every activity listed is offered every day, and many are available only when the season or weather permits.
Our program is located on a remote rural ranch in a back to basics, frontier-style buildings without any frills. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations for your son in a resort-like setting this is not the place to send him.
If you want your son to appreciate and not take for granted what has been provided for him by you, then our Ranch is the place to help him grow in appreciation and thanksgiving for all that he has received in his life. Young men that engage in our program leave here with a deeper respect for authority, self-discipline, and a new work ethic that will help them be successful in holding down a job or going to college.
