The Beartooth MT Ascent A Outdoor Adventure Program For Struggling Young Men

How We Help Troubled Young Men at Beartooth MT Ascent

Beartooth Mt Ascent offers young men ages 18-26 a unique opportunity to transform their lives so that they can become happy healthy individuals who are capable of living their lives with a sense of passion and purpose.

In order for a young man to begin his journey of personal growth and change, we ask him these essential questions:

1. What are your important relationships?
2. What do you most value in your life?
3. What people give you a sense of community?
4. What inspires you and gives you hope?
5. What brings you true happiness?
6. What are your proudest achievements?

The answers to such questions help young men identify the most important people and experiences in their lives. With this information, they can focus their search for meaning and purpose on the relationships and activities in life that have helped define then as a person and those that continue to inspire their personal growth.

We help at-risk young men discover the importance of developing an authentic Christian Spirituality as the best path to true happiness and a sense of purpose in their lives.
Taking the path less traveled by exploring Christian spirituality can lead to a clearer life purpose, better personal relationships and enhanced stress and emotion management skills.

At Beartooth MT Ascent we teach young men the life skills they need for success in life. Some life skills are very tangible: exercising more, eating healthy foods and talking with friends. A less tangible — but no less useful — way to find balance in life and stress relief is through developing a relationship with God.

How can an active prayer life and spirituality help struggling young men? Here is what they learn at BTMA:

It is a scientific fact that prayer, meditation and a healthy Spiritual life have many benefits for overall physical and mental health. It can help you:

    1. Feel a sense of purpose. Cultivating your spiritual life may help uncover what's most meaningful in your life. By clarifying what's most important, you can focus less on the unimportant things and eliminate stress.

    2. Connect to the world. The more you feel you have a purpose in the world, the less solitary you feel — even when you're alone. This can lead to a valuable inner peace during difficult times.

    3. Release control. When you feel part of a greater whole, you realize that you aren't responsible for everything that happens in life. You can share the burden of tough times as well as the joys of life's blessings with those around you.

    4. Expand your support network. Whether you are expressing your spirituality in a church, your family, or in walks with a friend through nature, this sharing of spiritual expression can help build relationships.

    5. Lead a healthier life. People who consider themselves spiritual appear to be better able to cope with stress and heal from illness or addiction faster.

A Life Changing Experience for struggling young men, parents and the entire family.

Please note: Our program is located on a remote rural ranch in a back to basics, frontier style buildings without any frills. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations for your son in a resort like setting this is not the place to send him!

If you want your son to appreciate and not take for granted what has been provided for him by you, then our Ranch is the place to help him grow in appreciation and thanksgiving for all that he has received in his life. Young men that engage in our program leave here with a deeper respect for authority, self-discipline, and a new work ethic that will help them be successful in holding down a job or going to college.
