The Beartooth MT Ascent Christ Centered Focus Is What Effects Lasting Change In the Hearts of Young Men.
|
Beartooth MT Ascent is a Catholic/Christian faith-based program for at-risk young men. We are committed to helping families in crisis with troubled loved ones. We provide diverse services complimenting each other for the purpose of healing and restoring broken families. Oftentimes young men in crisis can be defiant, unmotivated, truant, and involved in immoral lifestyles, including promiscuity, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and outright rebellion.
What is Christ-centered recovery?
Christ-centered recovery involves turning from false gods to the One who gives abundant life. "You turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God." False gods (drugs & alcohol, sex, material things) promise power, meaning, and security, but they ultimately destroy their worshippers. In contrast, we discover our reason for living as we find our identity, acceptance, and purpose in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Who needs recovery?
Anyone whose relationship with God, family, and others falls short of God's standard. In other words, we all do to some degree. Some people like to think of recovery as spiritual growth. That's exactly right because recovery means allowing Christ to control every area of our lives (spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social). |

Christ's victory over sin on the cross provides the foundation for recovery. Sinful behavior is simply an attempt to meet our needs elsewhere than in Christ. We overcome life-controlling habits to the extent that we find our deepest needs met in Him.
Recovery begins when we become God's child, but it does not end there. Genuine recovery is only possible as we allow Christ, rather than self, on the throne of our lives. Surrendering to the Lord gives Him His rightful place at the center of all that we think and do. Anything less holds us back from the purpose for which God created us. (Scripture reference: 1Thes.1: 9b) Our goal for each young man at Beartooth MT Ascent, is that they will come to discover a true passion and purpose for their lives, through the love and encouragement the receive from God in His creation & through the healing relationships they develop with us during their stay.
Through our "paternal teachings" and "reality therapy" the young man's mind and heart are renewed and unfolded as God created him. We employ this philosophy in all of our day-to-day activities in this program. We become a family involved in the total sharing of our lives with each and every young man. We know that change happens as a result of meaningful sharing and honest relationships. We also know that growth in the areas of honesty, trust, moral integrity, improved relationships, responsibility, and stress management will reduce your son's dependence on unhealthy coping behaviors, thus increasing your son's ability to find joy, purpose and fulfillment in his life.
The combined services and collaborative efforts of our gifted staff address the needs of the whole person by providing a whole solution through spiritual nurturing, healthy relationships, recreation, job skill training, academic achievement, emotional health and social enrichment. Beartooth MT Ascent offers families a therapeutic spiritual treatment plan. Rather than subjecting our students to the limitations of behavior management models, which primarily have an effect on the outward man, the focus at Beartooth MT Ascent is on spiritual renewal resulting in inner transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
A Life Changing Experience for struggling young men, parents and the entire family.
Please note: Our program is located on a remote rural ranch in back to basics, frontier style buildings without any frills. If you are looking for luxurious
accommodations for your son in a resort like setting this is not the place to send him!
If you want your son to appreciate and not take for granted what has been provided for him by you, then our Ranch is the place to help him grow in
appreciation and thanksgiving for all that he has received in his life. Young men that engage in our program leave here with a deeper respect for authority,
self-discipline, and a new work ethic that will help them be successful in holding down a job or going to college.
